The Holy Metropolis of Varna and Veliko Preslav


The administration of the eparchy is carried out by His Grace, the Metropolitan of Varna of Varna and Veliko Preslav, Dr. Kiril, with the co-operation of the Eparchy Council. The Eparchy has 5 clerical districts: Varna, Dobrich, Provadia, Shoumen, and Targovishte. Each clerical district (with the exception of Varna) is administered by a bishop's vicar. The centre of the eparchy is the city of Varna with around 500,000 inhabitants, 13 churches and 4 chapels. The total population of the eparchy is around 1,051,243 people, the churches are 308, the chapels - 15, and the clergy consists of 95 people.

St. Francis Heiligenbronn Foundation

The St. Francis Heiligenbronn is an ecclesiastic foundation within the public law with social institutions and services. It has a humanitarian mission on a Catholic basis and is devoted to hearing and vision impaired and otherwise disabled people, elderly people in need of care and suffering from dementia, as well as educational activities for children and adolescents. It offers services in the range of education, attendance, commitment, looking after and housing people aged from children to senior citizens. At present, The St. Francis Heiligenbronn Foundation employs around 1,300 associates. They look after, accompany and support more than 1,400 people in 12 locations in southern Baden Wurttemberg

Liebenau Foundation

The Liebenau Foundation was founded in 1870 and is an independent undertaking with social and educational purposes that originated with Christian motivation. With its institutions for assisting elderly and disabled people, as well as in the field of healthcare and education, the foundation is active in more than 80 places in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Bulgaria. At present, around 4,900 associates work for Liebenau Foundation. They look after, accompany, and support more than 10,000 people a year.
